It’s been said that a stroll through someone’s garden is a lot like reading their diary. If that’s the case, then I hope mine has made for interesting reading!

A Creekside Garden Inn, a spacious Mt. Vernon Colonial overlooking historic Mill Creek, opened in 1993. Many wonderful guests have visited the inn, bringing meaning to the phrase “Count your years not by numbers, but by the friends that life has brought your way.”

When I opened the Bed & Breakfast, I could barely tell a rose bush in a crowd of two. Through trial and error—in the garden as well as the inn—I passed from enthusiastic beginner to flourishing innkeeper. I have enjoyed the stretch to provide great food and service to compliment the nourishing atmosphere provided by Mill Creek.

Now it’s time for a different phase and I invite all my friends to follow my new diary entries…”Let the dust bunnies gather and the cobwebs go, for your garden will be grown before you know.”
